Bad days - what do you turn to?

Sometimes I approach bad days the same way I approach alcoholism, I just accept it. They happen. I don't try to remedy it with something else. I know that may not be of much help, but in life we are going to have bad days. I had one on Tuesday and just rode it out grumpy until bedtime.
I've been just trying to keep my hands and my mind busy! Crocheting or knitting while watching a movie, reading a book, painting...I used to calm my anxiety with alcohol, but no more! Although it's hard to not drive myself crazy with all of my racing thoughts. Sorry that you lost your job. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!
Having some sort of a spiritual path or belief has made a huge difference for me as well as a lot of the other things already mentioned. Distraction with activities either physical or creative, acceptance, gratitude, prayer, mindfulness, talking to others...
