I'm new

Im new to posting on this site. I have been reading on here for a while and find it very helpful to find others who are in recovery. I have been sober for about 3 months now, my longest stretch in at least 12 years. I hope to keep this going and when I look back it is hard to believe that I drank to excess for so long.

Welcome and congratulations on 3 months sober. I think that the denial aspect of alcoholism is huge. Looking back, I can't believe how distorted my thinking had become.

I look back in disbelief on my drinking days and wonder how I got myself into such a mess.

Great job on reaching 3 months sober. I agree - it's hard to believe what we put ourselves through. I went on for almost 30 yrs. Needless misery. It's great to be free of it.
