So this happened yesterday:

http://kstp.com/news/stories/s3952698.shtml

Buck in rut saw its reflection in the plate glass window and decided to charge itself. Broke through the window and ended up in the restaurant. He hung out for a while and then went back out through broken window. Right on the main drag of my town!

At a work conference today. Currently hiding in my car for the lunch break. I find the whole networking thing hard so needed a break!

Happy hump day all!

Congrats Marty! So proud of you!

Go get em, Nons!

Hi Melki! You voiced my sentiments on hump day exactly!

Babysitting later, but first I'm going to check on my dad and run a few errands.
Adios! Xo

I know how you feel, Behan. Sometimes "networking" clicks for me, sometimes not.

We may hit 70 F for the third consecutive day. If that happens, it'll be the first time that's occurred since 1975. I likey.

Target Christmas commercials already started. Bah! Humbug! (Not really - I like Christmas, just not ready to start seeing commercials I will have to see 12,000 times between now and then.)

Cuz I ain't doin' Guano like this. Had to throw in that 'Guano', given the Story.

Overcast and periodic Sprinkles here today. The Road Grader to finally put in a proper Driveway sits, unused. Gotta wait for it to dry out around here.

Congrats Marty! How you say, may your Gong be repeatedly banged!

Good Morning!

Coffee, check. Just filled up the bird bath in the back yard and it's a birdie jamboree right now- too cute to watch

I literally have Reese's wrappers littering my nightstand.....it's a sad state of affairs when left alone with my kids' Halloween candy. The remainder will go to our dentist who sends it overseas to the troops.

Happy Wednesday

Ha, Venecia!

Sao I have to drive in the morning but I have to go downtown in the afternoon. If I have time, I'm heading back to my neighborhood and taking the train.

Marty, that deer looks embarrassed. That's funny. Is the "limited amount of venison" on the menu contributed by the buck? Or did he meander back into the wild?

I'm tired this morning. But I've got my walking shoes on. I heard on the radio that people who walk a half hour a day get better results with weight loss and waist size reduction than people who hit the gym. I can walk. And it's free.

The deer meandered back into the wild. No deer was harmed in the process.

Ruby, I walk/hike an hour-hour and a half per day and it doesn't seem to effect my weight. I think it just makes me hungry. ...but I think, that even though I'm overweight, the walking, makes me feel fit. And it definitely effects my mood-especially this time of year when the mornings are brisk and beautiful.

Happy Wednesday, bus-mates!! I feel better today than I have in a looooong time! I overslept (yes SLEPT) and got to work late, so I gotta go and can't stay. Still hopelessly behind in the thread, but SR will be my pleasure reading this evening. Yesterday and today I have been able to work. Just...work...without panic. Much less obsessiveness, much more productivity.

Ruby, I'm with you. Nearest gym a 35-minute drive away, and once I was there, I would probably only use the treadmill! I can do a lot of local walking in the time taken for over an hour round trip in the car. Not that I DO walk an hour...just sayin, I COULD.

Ttyl!! Onward!

Bixbees, a good nights sleep is so healing. Keep plugging away. What you were feeling earlier this week could come up again but you got through it. You can do it. It's uncomfortable but not lethal.

Mr Ruby engaged in his usual morning after mea culpas. I guess I could be grateful for the reminder of why drinking is bad. Honestly, he's so predictable. How any of us thought we were hiding it. Getting away with it. Stupid

Sorry to hear he's still at it, Ruby. Frustrating.
By the way....how's your dad?

Marty, I've got to return something to Target....hope I don't get sucked into the Christmas vortex. Wish me luck!

Some pause for somber reflection today...

I work at a military facility where there is an over night shift. A young serviceman's girlfriend was coming onto the base to pick him up at 0700 this morning when she went off the road, leveled a telephone pole, and heavily damaged the car. (I saw it as I was driving in - pretty good hood crumple.)

She was drunk. She also had a suspended driver's license for a previous dui. My understanding is that she is now in jail.

There, but for the Grace of God, (and many, many weekender threads) go I.

There are sick and suffering among us, my friends. Roll up your sleeves, the work continues.
