SR makes my local paper!

In the advice column that replaced Ann Landers, someone wrote inquiring about sobriety alternatives to AA.

Many readers responded, a couple of names of rehabs and sites familiar to me (from what I've read here) were mentioned and then I see a mention for soberrecovery.com. Way to go!

It's almost hard to believe... over here in England you'd almost never be able to find an artical about alcoholism related to an individual.

Occasional 'crackdown on binge drinking' and 'police warn about happy our drinking' headlines. But no journalist will write about a fellow alcoholic!

Deg.

Do a search on bbc news and on nbc news websites and contrast the difference.

Totally agree.

As a partner of an alcoholic, I get frustrated when I hear about all these crackdowns on binge drinkers as a group, rather than focussing on the individual and their loved ones. I really believe that we are uneducated about alcoholism in the UK, despite it affecting so many people. Only this week, I confided in a friend about my partner and he told me he had just started to go to AA. I had no idea!!

Sorry - a bit off topic.

Well done, Jon. I, for one, don't know how I would have coped without this site.

Thank you

Minnie
