Lol. 2muchpain / John you're not alone! I currently do not have any meaningful relationships either. I mean, I have my family (parents/siblings) but that's pretty much it. I feel like after I graduated college, most of my friends got married/had children and I'm the only one living like a nomad and trying to pursue my passion. This leads to meeting new people, but, unfortunately, in my case--most of these "friendships" have been superficial. I'm seeking something deeper!

Those deeper relationships might just be around the corner for both of us. Just gotta keep the faith and keep sober. John

(Almost) 100 days is great!! Read through this entire thread, there's a lot of good advice. Let me know what you think after you're read everything.

Lol. ... It's raining in the wilderness; my run has been postponed.
Yeah, that's right--I don't run in the rain either...but I'm sure you do, right?

My sober life does not "suck". I consider myself reasonably happy, at least compared with so many others I read about in the newspapers. And I know of some who, because of alcohol, are in the deepest pit imaginable. There are ways out of the pit, ways to happiness. Some just get out a shovel and dig themselves in deeper. Others stop drinking and then resume because, they say, they are "bored'. Could that be the AV talking.?Poor AV wants its booze back? Wants blackouts, hangovers, detox, DUI's, Even jail. Jail may not be "boring". There is much excitement and uncertainty about being beaten up by the guards and prisoners. Death is always a possibility. Is death "boring"? No one really knows but everyone eventually finds out. Death from liver failure has been said to be far worse than death from cancer. Not "boring" however.
