new and happy to be here Hi everyone. . Im new to this site and to sobriety. . Almost on day 4.. just wondering what kind of withdrawl symptoms you have experienced. I went cold turkey and have been drinking heavy for 5 years |
Congrats on 4 days! I drank a bottle of wine (occasionally more) every night for years. My withdrawal was not acute or severe, but unable to sleep, no appetite, some stress, some sweating on and off. That all lasted a week or so. How are you feeling? |
Glad you're here, hopefull! |
Welcome to SR, hopefull24! I'm glad you found us here. Depending on how much you drank it can be dangerous to quit cold turkey. If you have problems get help at the ER. |

Great work! Love the name. If there's hope in the present-- there's power in the future! |
Welcome Hopefull. Day 4 is great. Are you starting to feel a little better? |
Thank you for the replies. .. its the weirdest thing, i have my anxiety on and off but i feel so good... when i was drinking i wouldnt eat, couldnt sleep and always felt on edge and frustrated. Now i have been sleeping and waking up not gagging while trying to make the kids breakfast. I feel happy now and i didnt think it was possible. Congrats to everyone on sr |
Keep up the good work, no need to ever wake I gagging or with a hangover ever again. I am glad your at day five, your well on your way. I do know though I had many attempts fail between five and twelve days so watch out, your mind my try to talk you into thinking it's okay too drink again. The anxiety can be killer but it does calm, takes a while though unfortunately. |
