Boyfriend Heading into Detox/Rehab
Hi just joined at the suggestion of a friend of my boyfriend's whose wife died from malnutrition (alcohol related). My boyfriend is heading into detox/rehab today. Finally. I'm so relieved, but also it is painful. I'm trying not to be selfish, this is absolutely what he needs to do but it is definitely painful for me as I will miss him very much. I just hope he doesn't freak out and insist on leaving. Anyways, thanks for reading.

I always say think of yourself in these situations this is him doing it for him its good your supporting him but remember you in all of this maybe some time will be good & if he does leave then I don't want to say it but don't get swallowed up by his alcoholism

I hope you use this time to do things to support yourself. Allow your boyfriend to work on himself and you can take this time to do the same. You might try AlAnon in your area and we also have a Friends & Families forum on this board.
