Honesty
And...as hubby and I arrive back to our hotel room at the end of the day...someone very well intentioned on reception has left a bottle of champagne in our room to celebrate our anniversary...
It actually made me laugh out loud! I mean, wtf?
But in fact, it led to the most difficult and honest conversation between us. I told him exactly what was going on for me, about how I'd been going to AlAnon for months , and some really clear boundaries have been laid down. I did a lot of crying but I feel such relief. Whether he keeps to them them now is up to him, but I feel less anxious.
And when it came down to it...I had zero desire to drink.
There really are better ways to solve things.

(((Jeni))), your honesty and strength are awesome! That of course doesn't mean you'll never again be tempted but I believe that each time we positively work through our challenges reinforces our goals. I hope that your H can reach a similar point but whatever he does, you know how important it is to be true to yourself, my amazing friend.
