But what do I drink now?
I am on day 6 and said the exact same thing to my husband about what will I drink now! I have become obsessed with herbal teas and I also am enjoying my new fruit infuser water bottle. I stay away from the NA drinks because I know that I could be triggered by the taste and the bottle. I gave up soda a year ago but have found myself drinking a couple this week and I am ok with that for now.
Good for you on not giving in to the thought that you could nurse one beer all night when you were at the bar.

In the Summer I bought a pack of NA beer to take to my sister's cottage. A beer at the end of the day on the lake was such a part of the experience that I couldn't imagine going there without it. Had a couple of them on the first day, then realised Blueberry and/or Pomegranate juice mixed with sparkling water tasted way, way nicer and was more refreshing. I left the rest for someone to drink by mistake as they look the same as the alcoholic version. The opposite of spiking someone's drink
Tried the NA wine... Signalled huge red flags I found myself mimicking my alcoholic behaviour. I agree, it was playing with fire for me too.

Coffee, green tea, and carbonated water. Maybe a diet coke or ginger ale once in a while.
I don't really know anyone who could honestly say they enjoyed alcoholic beverages the first time around. The truth is they pretty much taste like crap, but over time we convince ourselves that we like the poison, calling it an "acquired taste." That's some rationalization right there.
So the whole NA concept just confuses me. You get the crappy (or probably crappier) taste but none of the intoxicants? Why would you drink that?
