I feel taller
That's the thing and one of the real problems I ran into. I stopped having hangovers for the most part because I would just start drinking as soon as I got up. Got to the point where I was drinking in the shower getting ready for work. Even after just 3 days looking back that seems so just wrong and stupid of me.

Sure, I did the same trying to fend off the impending hangover myself. A little vodka with a sausage mcmuffin became a frequent way to start the morning. Gross.
Lately, I would notice that my boss would get really close when he wanted to talk with me (became the Seinfeld close talker). I'm sure he was trying to smell booze on my breath. Now, I'm like "Yeah man, get as close as you want bro. All you're going to smell is the onions from the sub I had for lunch".
Being sober means confidence.

what a great feeling...I noticed you gave up on the same date as I did. Only difference is I did it one year ago on that date. I wish you all the power planning and determination you'll need to do this. Keep holding your head up high...there is a whole new world above the clouds of alcoholism.
Great job Cholula! I used to do the same thing; head held low trying to avoid anyone seeing my bright red face, bloated body, puffy-hungover blood shot eyes, shaking hands, etc.
So nice and empowering to not live life dictated by alcohol anymore.
Well done!

Head held higher, eyes clear, a gettie up/bounce in my step, smile on my face (or at least not a frown), stomach feels better, head feels clearer, verbalizing things better... all thing that I have noticed.
I am better at my job, do more things, think more, less automatic life now. Before it was same old same old, go to work, eat lunch, work some more, come home drink. Weekends- wake up from the hangover due to Friday night's drinks, start drinking to feel better.

There is a great big world out there, and being sober will allow you to participate in it. You will no longer have to hang your head in shame because you are carrying the burden that alcoholism puts on us. Be proud of yourself.
