Banquos Update
Hiya everyone. Thought this would be an ideal place to post my update. Now 2 and a half years sober (apart from one night, which was 14 months ago) Now happily married with a 5 week old daughter and a steady job. This could never have been achieved if I was still drinking.
I was heading for a path of self destruction. No self worth, even though I was supremely selfish to everyone. Everyone else was wrong and drinking Jack's and Coke first thing in the morning was the most normal thing in the world.
But that was then. Now I am sober I don't get hangovers, have a beautiful wife and daughter and live a full life. I didn't pray, I'm an atheist, I didn't walk a path of righteousness, I didn't place my alcoholism in the hands of a "higher power" it was bloody hard work. But I did it. "I" being the operative word. Forgive me Raider for hijacking your topic but I wanted you to read this and not end up another statistic. Only you can break the vicious circle. Not by prayer, or blaming others or situations but saying I will not have my death be predicted by assholes on an Internet forum.
To everyone else thanks for all the support. And expect an update around two years from now! 😋
