Congrats on the interview MLD. I'm so happy for you

I hope you have a great time with your sister, Behan.

Today we went to visit my uncle (father's brother). He lives by himself and he enjoys feeding the stray cats (company I guess) but he said 6 are enough for now

After we visited my aunt who lives in a nursing home. I can't get my head around the fact that she is only in her 60s and already in a home. The staff sometimes hook her up to some kind of machine and she is still smoking. I mean my dad will be 70 in January and he is up and down ladders painting all the time. I asked him today and he said "I have been very lucky. I only smoked a few times in college and I always hated it".

Their mother lived to be 84 and father to 88 so my aunt could be in the home for years yet (but I doubt it somehow).

I know that the staff at the home are very good to her and it is a nice place but it just seems like such a sad way to end your life.

I'll be e-mailing all of them tomorrow morning to say thank you. Whew. Glad that's over. But it wasn't bad at all.
That's wonderful, Marty.

Glad it went well MLD

Best wishes to your aunt Tetra

For anyone buying broadband it is always a good idea to get a potential speed test done BEFORE you sign, things like distance from the exchange, quality of the (copper) cable etc all effect achievable speed so you can pay lots of money for the "up to" figure but in reality it may only be possible to receive a fraction of this. Not sure what the legal position in the USA is but you are entitled to this info now in the UK (only recently the case).

For city dwellers Fibre Cable best but again check your exchanges maximum speed - no point in paying for 80Mbps if the best you could hope to receive is say 44Mbps

MesaMan expressed this much more succinctly a while ago.

I know biminiblue will have done her homework before install

Rested up a bit, I am sort glad I can still work like a navvy some weeks and it does mean I don't have time to drink but on the other hand I don't just want to drown out the AV with white noise but to banish it forever. Still work to do on that score

Thank for the "rest" remarks, weekend isn't far away now. Off to zzzzzzz land

I hate when you are texting your brother on Viber and you are in the middle of typing something and he writes "God, you are writing an essay, it seems"...

Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Yeah. No. 25mbps is plenty enough fast for me. That's what I paid for, but I don't need even that much, and it is the lowest rung on the internet ladder here in the land of Microsoft. I did exactly zero research, just got the cheapest one - and I'm hoping for the best.

So I just checked myself - my speed is 23.23 download speed and 5.8 upload speed - and that is a huge improvement on my last, cell phone based modem.

We're having fajitas from the Mexican place tonight. Fajita Thursday. I'm having to hurry my husband out of the thrift store which is right next door to the restaurant. He will stay in there for hours sometimes, lol. This happens almost every Fajita Thursday.

ha ha. If I use the "Check internet speed" site run by my ISP - lookie how much faster it is

28.8 and 6.04 vs 23.3 and 5.8 on some generic speed site.

I know you all are on the edge of your seats with all this. I could post pictures of dinner...or my cats...

Tetra, forward the email to me - I could use the money...

A song:

Bim is gonna be on a tear... She can now post the minute waltz and it will play in 30 seconds.

RIGHT!!??!!!Eleven!! Ohmygod, thanks for that LBrain. I get to listen to something on YT! It used to just buffer after every minute.

This is awesome. I'm going to go buy that ROKU 2 so I can watch YT on my TV. This changes ebbrything.

Wow, yesterday I felt like crap. Today - roses - all because of a little small improvement that didn't even cost very much - until my 12 month low rate is over.

This goes to show life turns on a dime and gives five cents change.

I listened to the whole song - all the way through. Mind. Blown. 21st Century baby, I'm in it.
