test results

I got my lab work back and everything was normal except my cholesterol was high. What a relief to finally see those results, I was pretty nervous. The Dr did tell me my body is still healing at nine months and she said usually it takes about 2 years dry to really heal all the damage. I hope anyone else reading this is inspired to go get checked as it is good piece of mind.

That's great news sva, glad you were able to find out that things are mostly just fine, what a relief it must be!

This is a big reason/ motivator for me quitting. Last year my liver, cholesterol, and triglicerides were all slightly elevated. I am going in December for a physical and don't want alcohol to be screwing up my numbers/ health.
Congrats. Gotta be a good feeling. If I can offer any advice, don't let a good health report allow your AV to talk you into a drink being ok.

Thanks you everyone for your continued support it really means a lot.

About the 2 years to fully recover, I imagine that is only some parts of our bodies as my test results were fine for my liver and kidneys. I am sure our brains need longer to recover than anything.

That's great news! I'm not at all surprised- I felt like I was still changing and getting healthier for a couple years, too. Some of the aches and pains I'd attributed to simply getting older completely went away after I got sober.

HI SVA. I'm really glad your blood work came back okay. I think the blood provides a window into the body, so they're quite important and a relief if results were satisfactory, as yours were. Did your doctor attribute your slightly cholesterol levels to your drinking? I recently had blood work done, glucose and cholesterol were higher than last year, but my liver enzymes were normal. That's was a relief.
