Three years sober
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to make a quick post to say...thank you.
Today I am celebrating three years of sobriety.
On this date three years ago I was in hospital with liver failure caused by my alcholism. That was a defining moment in my life as I finally made a commitment to myself to stop drinking for good. That was the best decision I have ever made.
When all of that happened I decided to focus every ounce of energy that I had on staying sober and I began my recovery. Three years on and every aspect of my life is better. I'm not sure how exactly...but I still feel like life is improving, or maybe I'm just finding new things to be grateful for. I'm healthy, happy and i have an inner peace that I thought was unattainable.
One thing that I'm certain of is that none of those things would be possible without sobriety. As long as I keep recovery and sobriety as my priority I know that I can get through anything that comes my way.
Although I don't post on here much these days, I still check in here as often as I can. SR has been a pivitol part of my recovery , it's an incredible resource and the wisdom on here is invaluable.
Wishing everyone the very best.
