When dreaming becomes disturbing, I like that I can 'step back and see' its just a dream. Often comically fake. Then I enjoy the 'show'.

I like being at peace with my dreams and learning of my unconscious from them.

I'd probably interpret tooth loss as one's realizing their mortality.

Although it may signal real tooth decay, and pain intruding on sleep.

Oh, I'm very impressed by modern dental implant progress, laser eye 'surgery', and other medical advancements. . . wow!

Oh, I forgot to mention the hypnogogic, and hypnopompic semi-dreaming states. These medically recognized states occur 'in between' just falling asleep, and just awakening.

Its often then that the 'conscious' is startled by weird dreaming.

Not realizing this, many people are concerned why they're even having such 'crazy' thoughts.

But its just dreaming, not thinking.

Its natural.

Thanks for making this thread. I had dreams for a couple years of me losing my teeth (very vivid). I thought I was going crazy. I'm glad to find out its relatively common. Fyi, I was drinking when I had these dreams.

I've had this dream a lot over the past 10 years. I read somewhere that it was related to feeling like you're losing your youth/beauty, which I can totally see. I was considered very pretty in my younger days and getting old sucks. Even if you're sober! ;-)
