Day seven- struggling
Back again and feeling crazy. Sobered up thinking I could be pregnant and am not. Feel like that was keeping me sober. TMI warning... I am also having strange stools and it is freaking me out to the point of almost relapse. Feel like I have gone to far this time and am going to die. I am having crazy thoughts and running around my house checking the color of my skin under different light to see if I have turned yellow. Absolutely freaking out. So scared. I don't know if I will make it. Please help me.
I'm sorry you're freaking out Lscotty - did you see a Dr when you thought you might be pregnant ? did you get a full check up?
if not maybe a full check up now will set your mind at ease?
The chances are you're fine. A week is a great start

A week is a great start. Just sit and relax for a bit. Take deep breaths, roll your shoulders. Drink some water.
I'd also suggest making an appointment to see your doctor to set your mind at ease about the physical stuff going on.
Until then, stick close. You can do this!

I have an appointment on Monday. Was in the hospital on the 10th of September and doc said my labs were fine, but I think I went too far this time. Sobered up on the 23rd. I am so scared to tell my doctor what is going on. So scared to find out.
Great going on 1 week Scotty....glad you have an appt on Monday, try to stay positive & be honest with your Doc....they are there to help you, not judge you...you won't be the first person they have treated that have concerns, due to alcohol. Be kind to yourself.....maybe check out the weekender thread here.
You've everything to gain from being honest with your Dr, what's the worst they're going to say? considering you've almost convinced yourself of a diagnosis already, with a real diagnosis it may be better, but you need to be honest.
In the meantime don't give into the craziness of addiction, "I've been drinking too much, very scared for my health . . . SO . . . I'll drink some more to cope with it"
Sobriety is your friend Lscotty, draw a line under alcohol permanently, the body is a great tool, it can repair, but you gotta give it a chance!!

You are freaking out about the damage alcohol may have done to your body and think you might drink over it?
That is the insanity of alcoholism.
If you are really concerned about your health, drinking is the last thing you should be thinking about.
Think about how much you need sobriety to get past this insanity.

Do not be afraid of your doctor, he/she is not there to judge you - he/she is there to help you. I guarantee you will not be saying anything that has not been heard before.
Tell the truth so that you can be helped to their fullest ability.
