2 months

Hit 2 months recently!! Is it just me or does early sobriety go by kinda slow? Not that im craving a drink or anything but time seems to be moving slowly. Cant wait to put all this mess behind me and embark on the next chapter of my life.. dont know who im gonna be but im hopeful it will be great.. still in a pretty lonely place though.. except for AA and this site dont have much contact with anyone.. miss my old life a bitc except for the drinking of course. .

It takes time to build new habits and friends are you doing anything like evening classes to meet people where drink isn't directly involved ?

2 months is great , keep on

Have you talked with an advisor as you said you were going to? That would be a good start.

Have you read the "what to do" thread? There are literally dozens/hundreds of suggestions for things to do that will also involve meeting new people.

That's awesome😊 congrats!! Id love to have 2 months. It must be peaceful and time does go slower but life is short so maybe not a bad thing. You'll make new friends sooner then you think! I can't go 5 hrs w out drinking. This is what my life has become and it's expensive and annoying. I don't have kids, don't need to work for a while, am not a black out drinker, don't get belligerent or drive, but this is starting to really wear me down. Def don't recommend anyone goes here! Great to get out and now you can seize every opportunity.

Thx light and good luck, you are here so u are in a good place, i was a blackout drinker, almost daily, it really sucked but i preyed to have the urge to drink removed and so far it is working. I prey everyday and i have not had the urge at all.. there is hope and help if u want it. I certainly couldnt do it alone. I wish i would of figured that out a lot sooner, saved myself a lot of grief!!

Congratulations on 2 months. That's phenomenal. Just keep doing great the right thing. The longer you have sober the more things fall into place.

Congrats on 2 months Gonzo

You'll find that you'll start building up a sober life soon enough - new friends, new challenges, new passions

Congratulations on two months. That's great!

I found that I needed to slow down in the beginning. Not push things too much. Things happen in their own time but I was always too impatient to see that. Add a little something new at a time, adjust to that, then add some more.
