56 Days

Today is 56 days.
As I'm sure some of you remember the situation with my husband and his job.

He was laid off today. I guess crime does pay. The owner said he had no choice but to make the easiest decision by letting my husband go as he could not find a licensed funeral director to take the thiefs place..... Wow...... you find out your boss is stealing, you go to the owner and tell him what is going on.....he agrees and says he will replace her, you lose your job. How messed up is that?

I had a doctors appt today. All was good. I'm not depressed, no cravings really at all, having some female issues but will follow up with my girl doc. I was off work and I'm glad I was able to be with my husband as he received the news this morning.

You never think certain things will happen to you and then they do.

What a day!

Congrats Peanut on 56 days. While disappointing, things will improve. I guess it's a good thing that your husband found out where the owners priorities lie. In the long run, something else may have come up. The owner sounds like he's rather short on integrity.

Good luck with the doctor and hang in there.

Yes, definitely short on integrity.
Unemployment won't be an issue. My husband was also paid for roughly 6 weeks while he was waiting for an answer.
We'll get unemployment for 6 months, no problem and I have a good paying, very solid job.
I'm so glad that we got our house refinanced and that I DIDN'T buy a new car. I would be so stressed if I'd had.

Thru it all, my sobriety has remained intact. Suboxone withdrawal, pms craziness and this ball of drama and anxiety and I somehow survived, intact and better than ever.

Thanks to everyone here for all of the advice, kindness and encouragement. There were many times I thought I might not be able to do it.

Kudos to you as well! It's not easy dealing with anxiety/insomnia. All while being sober!

So sorry about his job. The owner must be a little bit mad. Doesn't he think that this person is likely to do it again?? I hope your husband finds a great workplace soon.

Congratulations on 56 days. Almost 2 months That's awesome.

I remember you peanut. I remember how stressed the whole situation made you. I'm sorry your husband was let go but glad both of you are away from that situation. Even reading how you're handling this situation compared to begore really shows how much calmer and stronger in your sobriety you have become. Proud of you and wishing the best for you an hubby

It's terrible that whole work situation came up, but given how your husband's boss handled it, it does feel best for everyone that he's now out of there and can start fresh somewhere else. I don't think you need to be spiritual to believe that Karma will catch up with the woman who caused all of this.

And fantastic to hear how your sober journey is going. Getting through that tough experience means from now one when life throws its knocks at you, you can say "I didn't drink then, so I'm sure as Hell not going to drink because of this!"

Really does feel life will just keep getting better from now on.

Congrats on 56 days, peanut. Sorry that your husband's job situation ended in this way, but maybe it's for the best. I'm sure he will find a healthier, more sane job.

Keep on keeping on, peanut. Sobriety fits you well.
