Your really not as alone as ya think

I was on a forum for automotive techs late last night that I have been on for 20+ years. As usual the weekend has people posting their drink of choice next to either their pool, beach, bbq grill, etc. Well the one guy who has been a regular on there, and have met him in real life many a times said all you drunk ****ers asleep yet? Course it was only 11pm my time and said nope I'm awake and stone cold sober. I had no idea how many of them are in sobriety now. It was like a someone knocked on the door and all these people that I have been chatting with for years came out of the wood work. Some of these guys had been down a brutal trail, and had lost more then I have do to it. How utterly not alone I was in a group that I have always known to be, or I thought of as partiers.

One of the key lessons we learn in sobriety is that -- contrary to what we perceived when we were drinking -- not everyone drinks, or drinks to excess.

Good for you, and for your friends. I really don't want hungover guys and gals working on my car.

How cool to get that validation! I never noticed how alcohol is "everywhere" when I was drinking.
