Day 2 - Walking the boys to school...

Before:
Dreading the 200 metre trek up the road
Sweating, shaking, nauseous, anxious
Paranoid everyone knew how hungover I was
Hoping no-one tried to talk to me
Keeping my head down
If I made eye contact putting a mask on to try and smile
Being desperate to get back home to my sofa and black coffee

Today:
Enjoyed the blue sky and fresh air
Chatted to the boys about their day ahead
Smiled and said hello to fellow Mums
Dropped both boys off with hugs and smiles
Slowly wandered home relishing the difference in myself
Got home to a ginger and lime tea and started ebaying the mound of stuff I have to sell!

Again, it's the small things...

Hi.
You are so correct, many of us take much for granted and moments of gratitude for the simple things in life are so relished by those that don’t have them.

BE WELL

Congrats! Great post! A comparison to keep in mind I'm sure.

What a good comparison. I've been in your shoes too many times. Paranoid that someone would smell the alcohol. Not any longer. Keep it going.

Awesome job FF. Nice to enjoy life without the thick alcohol fog!

Well done and keep going, it gets even better.

Its nice not being hung over right? I used to kid myself into thinking, that feeling that in the mornings is normal. I tricked myself into thinking everyone else felt like that too. Now when I wake up, its a new me, a different me. Its pretty cool.

Oh I remember those days. I couldn't even do the smallest of things without thinking I was going to die right on the spot. I'm so grateful to have dug my way out of that hell.
