Welcome Paper. Recovery seemed foreign and unnecessary to me for many years too. Until I realized how bad my drinking had become. SR has been a lifeline for mentor many years, I hope it helps you too.

Paper, when I found this site, I was drinking 6-12 drinks per day, 5-6 days per week. I had been doing that for more than 20 years. Shortly after I joined SR, I admitted to all of you nice people that I am an alcoholic. You are the only ones I have told. That was 2 years ago.

I haven't had a drink since the day I joined SR.

This place can play an amazing role if you are serious about getting and staying sober. The amount of advice and support that I have received here is why I am sober today.

I hope the same for you. Good luck. And welcome. I am glad you are here with us.

Welcome paper!
4 months sober for me and loving it. I wasn't even planning on being sober this long!

The more sober I became, the more evident my problem was.

Folks here on SR are amazing. There's lots to learn, so stop on by often!
