#1-Again

Hi - I'm back. I managed to be alcohol free for several months last year, but started having a beer here and there until I now am binge drinking most nights in the same amount I was when I stopped last year. You folks really helped me last year, but I became too complacent, thinking I had my problem 'licked' and stopped checking in. For months I was able to have a beer or two, even going a couple of weeks without. As you all can guess, that didn't work and so I find myself beginning AGAIN. Day 1

Incidentally, I'm using a one word title as I am having difficulty posting a new thread.

Welcome back! I too have had plenty more than one day 1's. All that matters is you're back and ready to give it a go. Good luck!

I had almost a whole week of not drinking under my belt and yesterday had to go and blow it with another night of binge drinking. I feel absolutely horrible today. Only 7 more hours and my day will be over.

I've been sorta moderating too and I feel its just a matter of time before I'm back at two bottles of wine 3-4 nights a week, and who knows where it leads from there
Welcome back
Xoxo

Moderation is like a scenic detour on a road trip. No matter how nice it may be, it ends up back on the main road farther along than where you got off.

I'm sorry to hear it's a rough day, but it can be your last. :-)

Right you are Lance. I would moderate for a few weeks, have several too many, moderate again, etc. Then there stopped being those moderated days. I'm perking up a bit this afternoon after hydrating and feel like I may survive. I HATE Day 1s. I'm counting on this being my last Day 1.

Welcome back Rar.

For me, trying to moderate became just as exhausting as flat out drinking. Ultimately the only sensible choice I had left was to quit for good!

The good thing is you know you can do it because you have done it before for months
