day 1 again idiot!
First off, you are not an idiot.
It's hard to stay on the right path.
learn from what happened and move on.
It took me a couple time to get it right and now it's been over 2 years.
So, chin up.
And remember, sobriety is really worth it. So if you need some help reaching that goal,go for it. In the end it's all worth it.

Hello:
AV: addictive voice. I use AVRT and I love it.
A plan is whatever you are going to do the next time that you have a craving. There are many threads about it so you can get many ideas if you do a search. My plan is really simple. When I feel a craving I come here and vent about it and read the responses. I also read previous post of mine to remind myself how I ended up here. I also play the tape and go for a walk... Some people take baths, eat sweets... The key is to find that distraction until it passes. You can also search urge surfing. That's helpful too.
What I always try to do is remember that the craving will pass and I try to keep my eye on the prize. I hope this helps and that you take some time to explore some options. Education is what has helped me the most.

Tambdy, Day 5 was my killer! Arrrgh, had lots of those, You are back on the horse , you can do it! I am finally at Day 13 here and feel so much better! It's still such early days for me so offering more support than wisdom. AVRT is basically telling your AV to shut up. Google Rational recovery and do the crash course on AVRT. It's free and easy and really helps me when AV starts yammering at me to drink.
Also HALT is helpful... Cravings caused by being Hungry, Angry (anxiety for me), Lonely or Tired. So if you have a craving ask yourself are u hungry? then eat something for example. Angry or anxious? walk or deep breathing... Etc.. The sober veterans here are wise, lean on them! Dee has a link for how to build a plan, I am sure he will be along
Glad you are here, stay strong!
