Hey everyone! Sitting reading my paper for a change. Cooking section from August 26th. I'm a bit behind. A corn recipe has caught my eye. Hmm.

Picked peaches at parent's. Fighting wasps as I did so. But the peaches are sort of mealy. That was disappointing. But still tasty.

Hi everyone, great to see familiar faces and some new ones as well! Welcome aboard, gang.

Tying up loose ends at work today, then fly from Guatemala to Mexico at 6am tomorrow. That means getting up at 3am here in the mountains. Going to be an early night. Hope to check in from Guadalajara over the weekend. Adios, amigos.

Back at work this morning. Ran across a strange software issue yesterday that I couldn't fix on my own. Waiting for tech support to call me back. Soooo - just twiddling my thumbs for now.

Hey all,

Welcome to any newcomers. Our bus is gathering momentum as we travel to the weekend. Fear not, we are all in the capable hands of our trusty driver, shaving his head in anticipation!! We have poetry warning us of the dangers of arming those that have been scorned!!

Have a great trip to Mexico Big S - sounds fantastic.

And happy labor day - I just looked up it's significance.

B

LB, you crack me up every time. "Meet me at the cop station and bring cash." That would be the only way I'd sell anything on CL.

Fall is definitely in the air here in the PNW of the US. Even though we need the rain, the gray skies affect my mood - and not in a good way. I'm going to try to get to the fair again either Friday or Saturday because I like the rodeo.

When I used to skydive, the parachute DZ (I'm going for "most abbreviations in a post") was just across the road from the rodeo bowl. One time I made a jump into the bowl at the rodeo's request with some other jumpers, dressed as Santa and elves. I was an elf. It was fine until we got into the lower part of the bowl and there was no wind resistance. Messes with an accurate, graceful landing.

Anyway, ramble on, rebel rockers.

BigS....I met a guy from Guatemala a few weeks ago and he showed me pictures of a lake volcano?? At least I think that's what he said....a bit of a language barrier. Have you been there?

Drunk ladies on a school bus?? That's a new one. Hope I never have to ride a school bus again. They always smell like stale sweat and sour milk. Yuck!

Babysitting my godson for a few hours today. Being with him always seems to put things in perspective.

Oh Bimini....I didn't realize we had one of Santas elves in our midst! How handy!!

I like rodeos because of the cowboys.

lol, brynn.

Yes, these days I like rodeos for the animal vs man thing. The Levis and hats don't hurt at all.

I wanted to be Santa, but as a skinny 120 lb 18 year old girl, I had to settle for elf. That turned out to be fortuitous, the padding and the beard, hat, and boots made for a dangerous skydive for Santa.

We were talking with the rodeo guys after the jump. They thought we were crazy. We thought they were crazy. Not sure who was more right.
