I'm due a home visit for someone to see me on Monday and the doctor on Wednesday. I will just have to hold it together over the weekend. I worry that even if I give up now with 10 weeks until the baby is here, the damage is already done so there's no point. I hate thinking like this

Please seek help and don't try and do this on your own

Hi, I'm not judging, but you need to STOP now. That poor unborn child has no choice in what you put in your body- you have to choose for he/she. Fetal alcohol syndrome is real and will affect your child for their ENTIRE life. You need to get help asap even if it means inpatient. This is not going to fix itself. I pray for you and your unborn angel. Alcohol is not worth this.

Hi, I also urge you to talk to a doctor and do everything you can to stop drinking now. What is done is done, you can't change that. But you can change how things unfold from now. You may be aware that it's not only during pregnancy where the child can be affected by the consequences of drinking, but also after birth, even if you choose not to breastfeed. Drinking during those first weeks, months and years would most likely interfere with how you care for your baby and what kind of relationship you develop with him/her -- this is definitely something you are still free to work on from now on.
Like so many others here, I do not judge either. And we understand the battle you are fighting. I had/have underlying depression too that I used alcohol to treat. Took me awhile to admit that I was self medicating for depression. Please tell your Dr. what is going on. He/she may need to change up your meds and get you into counseling. But here is a good place to come, read, and post and know you are not alone and not judged either. That's win-win.
