New here
Hi all,
i´m new to this site having discovered it through trying to help a friend get through a couple of months of shell-shock and withdrawal - i myself have 10 months although i never put a time-frame on any healing period..

It’s great to have a helpful friend like yourself.
Anyone who has a problem drinking can be helped here by just reading and absorbing the happenings of recovery, sort of like osmosis at times.
Easy does it.

i did it successfully by seeking psycological help with the disorders including co-dependency that were responsible for me not liking living in my own skin... I realised there was nothing cunning and baffling about alcohol, it was merely a symptom.. From further cognitive neural therapy i began to understand i could engage with my higher conciousness and i learned the reason we make attachements in our minds that are easily exploited and hi-jacked by religious dogma when we are vulnerable....... i felt the necessity to change tack after learning AA was just another religion and the last 10 months has woken me up, moving beyond recovey and just managing life like every other person out there, my co-dependency has vanished along with most all my negative fears, i have a wonderfully normal relationship and i´m engaged to be married next year...... the law of attraction. I utilize positive energy and i meditate frequently. I go to AA once a month now just to meet with some old friends, it saddens me that no-one ever changes, i hear the same shares i heard from 5 years ago from the same people with the same underlying anxieties and mental disorders - if they were actually taught how to run their own lives isntead of depending on a God to do it for them, they would recover immeasurably...
You asked me and i was honest :-)
