Grains of sand
Grains of sand
Sobriety is not about moving mountains.
Every drink was like a grain of sand washed from my foundation. With each I got weaker and weaker until, of course, it all gave way.
Rebuilding the dyke takes some careful and skillful craftsmanship. No dyke was built on an empty plan. Oh no. Engineering and forethought.
Living sober takes that same focus. That same desire to construct a life that does the job of holding everything in its place. Side by side. The ego and the Id.
Man has proved over and over that's it's completely and totally possible and plausible to believe in. A solution to a problem always exists. In the right measure.
We need not be geniuses. The most complex puzzles can be satisfied by the simplest of answers. We knew it all along.
Put down the fear. Lay to rest the over thought reasoning. Let yourself be loved. And in return we love.
Make hope wider today. Give yourself more room to grow. Don't hide from it. Face it. Be it. Conquer it. Love it.

I need to work on facing my fear of being alone and to stop hiding from the reality of my relationship situation. Maybe I need to work on making the hope wider. I haven't thought of that angle before
Great post and Strat's comment is the absolute icing on the cake. I'm absolutely stronger now as a person than when I started. Or perhaps not. I've had it in me all along but just never gave myself the chance to see it.
Thanks!
