Serenity
Serenity
I have changed. I was always looking to be entertained. Looking for chaos or the next buzz. I always wanted to be somwhere other than where I was.
How I have changed. Just got done with a wonderful farm fresh dinner, corn red potatoes, wax beans, tomatoes, and ribs on the barbecue. Full, content, and talking to my wife.
What I used to call boredom I now call serenity.

It takes a while to learn how to live sober and cherish this wonderful life we have granted. I have found each day gets a tiny bit better and it is only when we look back can we see how far we have come
Yes. It does.
What you said about serenity is part reason why I am in this for the long haul. I am already experiencing serenity and I know serenity will grow, while the desire to chase a buzz will continue to diminish.
When I posted day 1, it was to take a break. I was drinking all day at the time for about a year. I didn't even know how long of a break. I figured 30 days would be a good start.
I'm learning though that life is so much better not always looking for a buzz. Pot, pain killers, kratom, bath salts, phenibut...anything I could get my hands on.
I'm so glad it's over.
Serenity is 1000% better then catching a buzz!
