Correlation between alcohol and obesity
Interesting article about this from Slimming World (like weight watchers in the UK)

I think if I was drinking beer all the time, pints after pints I would have been obese, but all that liquor got me drunk quicker, my alcoholism evolved into the path of most efficiency when it came to my choice of tipple.
When I quit I wasn't obese, but I dropped a few pounds naturally without doing anything in terms of diet or exercise, now I'm within a my healthy BMI range for my height!!

My first go at sobriety, I not only quit drinking, but also completely changed my eating because I had been diagnosed with T2 diabetes. So, I cannot say it was only quitting the wine habit I had, but I lost 60 pounds. In about 5 months.
I was the opposite I was heavier before , but after drinking I would hardly ever eat . I did more , like dancing & cleaning my house constantly . So every thing looked good on the outside
Now my house isn't spotless , changed my eating habits . The different is I'm Happier
Great post though , I know some of my old friends are battling w/ both .

I put on weight when I stopped drinking then lost weight through dieting then put weight bk on I'm currently in a healthy-ish state lol but I'm aiming for an athletic state which I've already began training for
I'm hoping by December I'm going to be in the best shape of my life

I ended up losing a lot at the end (I wasn't eating. Was not hungry. I also didn't need any sugar because I was getting it from alcohol).
I'm gaining now. I could stand to lose 10 lbs. I just have to eat better. All up and down.

I read this article, along with some of my recovered friends, and we have come to the conclusion that it was written for (focusing on) the non-alcoholic.....not for us A's here........just a thought.
