25 days
Hey everyone,
Just checking in. This is my 25th day sober. I've had some urges the past few days and have found my mind thinking about long-term sobriety and freaking out a bit. But I've managed to use my coping skills, go to meetings, and be open with my sponsor. Just taking it one day at a time. Have noticed increased anxiety in the past 2 weeks but am trying to work through that with support, less sugar in my diet, and exercise. Just trying to stay balanced- it's been challenging but I'm managing.

I'm not really sure about my sponsor to be quite honest. She's pretty hands off and has said that she doesn't like to direct too much. I'm unsure how to proceed with her to be quite honest. Am meeting her for an in person check-in before a meeting that we both attend tomorrow morning.
Well done on 25 days Katie, and also for using your coping skills. Craving for alcohol doesn't mean we have to drink, and I found have a few tools for dealing with cravings made all the difference.
Forever sobriety is scary, so I gave myself a year as a target. After the year was up the benefits of being sober were so rewarding I just kept going. But it was motivating to have a target, and I got to celebrate with a cup of tea
