Hi Art:
I am sorry for your loss and I completely disagree with you. In the big scheme of things your sobriety is everything because this is YOUR life. You can't control what others do, or what life brings but all of us here can assure you that drinking isn't going to help anything. You know that.
I hope that you feel better today and remember we are here for you.

(((AF))), I'm so sorry you are going through this! I hope you will listen to Dee's hard-earned wisdom. Alcohol doesn't help the grieving process, it just shuts it down and then you haven't processed your grief - and it will remain ready to pop up again and again afterwards. We will hold you in our thoughts and prayers as you slowly deal with this tragedy.
Are you seeing a therapist? If not, it might be good for you to see someone for some help in processing your grief.

That is such awful news for you and your family to cope with.
And it also shows just how insidious that inner craving for alcohol can be, that it would take advantage of such a tragedy to hit you at your weakest point to get its fix. I hope you'll find the strength to treat those cravings with the contempt they deserve, and to face what will be a deeply emotional and stressful time without letting alcohol back into your life.
