Brief Clarity

Not really sure what is going on. I've been alone today and have made a few phone calls for some kind of help but no luck.

I've been trying to keep as busy as i can, even managed to eat a little nutritious food, although i had to gag that down.

Off and on thru the day, I've noticed little bits and pieces of peace. Very fleeting and i really wish it would stick around because i need that so badly right now.

Just thought i would post something positive!

Peanut, grab onto those little bits of peace and clarity.

I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better.

Me too. I just never thought I would find myself on an episode of "Jerry Springer".

Neutral Ground Tonight

So when my husband came home, we managed to talk about our issues in a round about way. We hardly made any eye contact tho, which I thought was strange.

I think we are both harboring some angry feelings but have more pressing issues at hand. I need to get my act together at work and he needs to figure out what he's going to do.

I have 32 days today but I'm not very excited about it, sadly. Maybe that will come later. But at least I don't feel as depressed as I did yesterday.

Also, my husband is still working on getting a hold of an addiction specialist that works in our town 3 days a month. He'll be here this week. So we will see.

You're doing good. Early sobriety is a strange time, and it's never easy. It's great that you and your husband are working on sobriety together (if I read that right) but try not to let his problems affect you too much. We have enough on our plates to worry about. It's good to have a teammate but it's kinda like racing where you help your teammates as much as you can but in the end it's all about number one!

Lorax is right, early sobriety is hard! Emotionally you often feel like a kite dancing around in a tornado, feeling great one moment than sad or angry the next. It's a lot to take in and a lot of stuff to adjust to.

Hang in there, Peanut! Cling to hope jealously, don't let it go. What you hear so often is true- it won't always be easy but it will be worth it.

Yep, I agree with Lorax too. Early sobriety is a tough and strange time. Your body is adjusting in every way that it can. At the same time, life's ups and downs don't subside either.

You're doing great. Lean on us as much as you need Peanut.

Congrats on 32 days!

Hello:

Why are you not excited about your 32 days?!?!?! Are you kidding?!?!? That's huge AND great. It's this kind of self talk that feeds the AV and we don't want that. You are going through a lot but give yourself credit that you deserve.

Those 30+ days is all you. YOU made it happen!!!

What helped me was coming here and learning about early sobriety. I was also helped by feeling I had backup at SR. There is nobody in my real life that I could talk to about this so knowing that I had SR gave me some peace. Use this place as much as you need to.

Keep your eye on the price!!!
