That made me giggle, Art. I love recalling funny stories of my sister......helps me feel like she's a little closer.

Sorry to hear you're going through a hard day. Recalling fond memories help, it sounds like you are doing a good job of it. Staying sober is a great way to live today in their memory. Best to you.

Thank you all again!! This is the first "sober" anniversary I have had and it is great!!! You all are so kind and I appreciate it so much!

We appreciate you, too, AF. I'm glad you posted to talk about your loved ones. I'm sure they're proud of you, & I know you'll see them again.

Still thinking of you, AF. While the day is almost over, I know that thoughts of your mom and grandma must be present all of the time. I'm praying that you are able to find comfort and peace in your memories of those remarkable ladies. You do them proud.

One couple started telling her how cute she was and mom said something like "I'm cute and not constipated like my sister". She meant to say "conceited" Too funny.

That's a hoot! I hope that with time the good memories will grow stronger while the pain fades. My dad passed away a few years ago, too, and while I still miss him terribly thinking of him doesn't make me as sad as it used to. I think of the good times we had and it makes me feel like he's right by my side. I'm not a religious person, and I don't really know if we have souls or spirits that endure. But I do know that as long as I'm a live a piece of my dad will always live on in my heart. Hopefully you'll always carry a piece of those you love in yours.:grouphug:
