Please Tell Me How I Can Help You
Thanks Bill. I too read every word of your post and you've helped me today too.
..."If I drank, I would be helpless to deal with all of this and probably be dead". This is a big part of why I choose to be sober today too.
27 years of sobriety... What an accomplishment!

Bill, you started this thread because you were struggling and sad. And your closing concern was how you might be able to help one of us. I think that speaks volumes about you.
I am not sure you realize how many of us admire, respect and care about you. To be honest, I consider you one of my strongest role models. I look forward to the wisdom and thoughtfulness I find in each of your posts.
I just thought you should know that.

hi Bill, I echo that your post helped me. I'm 56 and recently have begun trying to become sober, and it's been hard. The fact that you did it and remain so even during challenging times is inspiring. I understand about your doggie. My animals are my passion too, and dearly miss my "soul kitty" who KNEW what I felt before I did. He was a nanny to countless numbers of foster kittens we have had. one moment just looking in his eyes and feeling complete empathy from him during a bleak moment is something I will not forget.
Thank you Bill for your kindness, you reaching out to help others through your sadness touches me.
