Have an interview today and my av is talking in my ear arghh
Since I decided not to go back to my last job I have been applying for new jobs. I have an interview this afternoon and my anxiety is really getting the better of me. I keep telling that voice to go away. Im just scared because this business just happens to be around the corner from a beer store. I don't want to drink. I just hope I have the strength to just leave and go home after my interview. Sadly even though I need a new job being sober is more important to me at the moment over a new job. Anyway thanks for listening.

Congratulations on taking a step to look for work. You know every step opens a new door to a new life event, and you don't know what is waiting for you at this job.
Instead of worrying about it, grab the fear by the horns and see where you can lead your self today
Don't worry about the store, it will never move away from you but you can move away from it.

Good luck at the interview!
Can you do some relaxation techniques before heading out to the interview?
You already know this, but if you drink after the interview and do get the job, your already risking the new job. Because if you're like me, one drink is too much, one more is never enough.

Good luck at the interview Chloe. Coming here and talking it through ahead of time is a smart move...you can plan for all the potential pitfalls now. Concentrate on the interview itself, perhaps you could spend some time writing down your potential answers to questions for practice. Always remember that drinking now, or after the interview would be the absolute worst possible decision you could make...and it is a choice you can control. Take the other way round the block when you come and go too to avoid the liquor store....temptation is everywhere but you can always avoid it.
Good luck Chloe.
Get everything you want to say compartmentalised in your head and maybe practice some example questions they may ask you?
And deep breaths before you go in. This is all doable without booze.

There are liquor stores everywhere chloebaby. That is just another one. You can go to a liquor store any time you want where ever you want and you have chosen not to do that. The one near your new potential employer is no different than the multitude of others and it has no special power over you whatsoever. Just another pile of bricks and mortar, nothing more.

Thanks everyone. I made it home with only some take out food. Lol interview went pretty good I think. Just waiting to hear back now. I am so glad I didn't give in to it. I am starting to realize how my mind really plays tricks. Trying to rationalize how its ok to have one or two grrr. Anyway happy to say that has passed and im ok for the moment.
