A sign from above?
Clearly a sign, in my opinion. That's just awesome! I try to be open to serendipitous events such as that.. clear acts of grace. Early in my sobriety I had a couple of those happen when I was ready to cave, and I also took it as a sign that I wasn't meant to drink again. And now, two years later, living in a crazy foreign country.. I still haven't.
Making nothing special of the incident would be best. If feeling a need to attach spiritual meaning, however, it would be safer seeing it as a sign of the 'opposite force' attempting to redirect a sincere desire to be made aware of a true spiritual presence inside of yourself.
The old-timers called it "woo-woo spirituality". Next may be the black cat crossing in front of the car as an answer to a question.
"My real friends aren't the ones who agree with me; my real friends are those who make me think."
As a general maxim: If 20 people give an easy answer that is a cinch to accept - and one person gives an answer that is hard.....choose the hard. My experience, and that of many others: The hard way is the way to the Easier, Softer Way.
Early recovery is the "my best thinking got me here" phase (old ideas, old beliefs, little New Experience/New Thinking). If not hearing a LOT of things that 'go against the grain'/disturb Ego in early recovery, and doing them anyway....little growth occurs.
"Awareness is the answer; willingness to see, the key."
"Your task is not to seek for Love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against It." - Rumi (4th and 5th Steps)
That's the view from here. Ymmv.
