la la la *sticks fingers in ears*

I'm ignoring the AV aka the demon who casually suggested a nonalcoholic bottle of wine.... think i'll pass on that one. Too scared it will make me relapse.
.
"non alcoholic drinks are for non alcoholics" right?!

Day 24 n craving so i'm having a tonic water instead.

How is everyone else doing today?!

Well done Blueberry! Yep, I occasionally think about getting some Becks Blue or whatever. Some say it helps, but I think it's too much like the real thing for me

Stay strong

I still sometimes pretend my water or juice is laced w booze, like it used to be.

Something about it makes me feel like I am having a little party.

Is this is a relapse trigger?

I feel like that when I listen to music it gives me that same lil buzz, whether its a relapse trigger I have no idea tbh but by god we are allowed some fun right?! If there is no alcohol involved surely it shouldn't be a problem?

Thanks or asking how I am doing ...

Happy, Joyous and FREE ... it takes WORK for me to maintain the Miracle of my current Spiritual Condition that keeps me 'elevated' above the churning of my Flesh Nature, which would lead me back to living on Self-Will-Run-Riot, which leads direct to Pitiful & Incomprehensible Demoralization.

It's kinda like it takes WORK to keep my body clean, teeth brushed, etc ... or my condition would suffer.

RDBplus3 ... Happy, Joyous and FREE

For me, I can't even remember alcohol as fun.

It was trying to kill me.

The days of fun were long over. The buzz lasted minutes and the consequences lasted the rest of the time.

Very true. Thanks for the reminder... it too stopped becoming fun for me too. No fun in puking up every day, and the only way I could keep food down was to have another drink.... my liver reminds me that actually it wasn't any fun at all!

It's odd don't think I have puked in years and years and years despite being blackout drunk a lot. Probably not a good thing at all as it means my poor body had to process it all.

i guess true alcohol free wine would be grape juice, alcohol "free" isn't quite so alcohol free at all is it?! Still contains a trace. I made the right decision to avoid.

This happened to me too. It's when hangovers turn into withdrawals. There's no going back after this.

For me it got that bad, the very little i did eat came back up, the only way to stop puking was to have a drink. Having to take Imodium almost daily so I could get through work without the trots (sorry tmi) Its always good to have a stark reminder of why I am now sober you know. I cant put myself through that again!

I didn't even realize that my hangovers were turning into withdrawals I thought they just got a bit odd and lasted a bit long.

The non-alcoholic wine/beer thing? That is some danger-zone stuff, IMO.

I've read stories here of how the beast was awakened by drinking the stuff. The ritual, the glassware, the smell, the look of it.

The addiction will look for any "in" to get you. Cunning baffling powerful. Insidious.

In the past, the third week was the hardest for me and when I caved. Physically I wasn't feeling sick and I foolishly thought, "I can moderate". Slippery slope back down to the quick sand pit of addiction. Glad you posted and kicked that thought to the curb! I've been making seltzer with mint and sometimes freeze a few rasberries or blueberries and throw them in. It feels like a treat

Hangovers turned in to withdrawals, that was when the party stopped. Took me 10 years to quit after that point though.
