Feeling drunk??
Feeling drunk??
So, yesterday I went on a bike ride with my brother and a friend, which actually just turns out to be a 30 mile pub-crawl with bikes.
Anyway, I stuck to water at each pub, and a coke. But as I was drinking the water, I felt as if I was getting more and more drunk with each drink, as I would have if I'd been drinking beer.
I had this happen at a party last week too. Has anybody else ever felt this way, or am I just insane?
I'm not concerned, it's just weird
Day 45 or thereabouts!
Have a good, sober day

Carver, yes! I once took a hypnosis certification course, which spoke a lot to this phenomenon. All it is, really, is the power of the mind reacting to stimuli. For example, if you sit down and imagine all of the detailed motions of biting into a lemon - the taste of the rind, the sour pulp, the seeds running down your chin, the squishy sound - your mouth would likely begin to water because your brain has been trained to activate certain motions in your body based on that stimuli.
If that's true, then of course your body is going to react when you put it through the patterns of getting drunk, even without the booze. Old patterns, in all capacities, are difficult to shake.
At least, that's my two cents!

Give it time and go slow 45 days is still really early in recovery. I noticed most of the fog and other effects wore off after 180 days. Your already over the worst stuff it only gets better.
Sometimes glycogen depletion can make you feel "buzzed". Hot day, 30 miles of exertion, water but maybe not enough water, and somebody said it already - you're still in early recovery. So, sure, you may have legitimately felt a "buzz". Just not from drinking .
