old lady's first post, I laugh to myself
Greetings all my relations, My grandson is helping me through the maze of technology and asked what is it I want to do on computer. I thought since I don't get out as much as I used to, that this would be a good place to start.
I am actually looking for slogans that people say when they pass out chips, since my home group just asked me to do this job. Here's a little true story : when the chips were being handed out and 9 months came around, a woman who was a newcomer from Rwanda said under her breath, "no more babies".
A man who had heard it, began saying it at every meeting, like he thought it was funny. Some people say "push" which I also hate since most men cant really understand what pushing at 9months means, LOL at least in my head.
Anyhow , this woman and I had opportunity to talk privately. Rwanda, know anything about the war? All her children were killed in front of her and she has huge scars all over her back and legs. Each time this man repeated her whispered statement she was crushed and reminded of that fact, NO More Babies. She stopped going to meetings.
So that is a horrible story indeed. But I have been dying to tell someone because it hurts my heart. So now I am looking for slogans for the chips, besides the "what do we do?- Keep coming" so maybe people dont feel the urge to spit out their own thing, my control issue I guess.

Hi clc. Welcome to SR. We never say any slogans at meetings if chips are given, other than "congratulations." Then the chip is passed around the table to the people attending the meeting and then given to the recipient.
I hope your Rwandan attendee finds peace. Was someone able to head off the guy who was repeating her words? Maybe explain that it is a highly sensitive matter?
