second rock bottom
Never been online doing stuff but I am going to try it out. Wife told me Friday she is taking the kids and leaving. I have been a very good drunk but not a good husband. I see what I did now and this is day 3 no drinking. She is coming tonight to discuss the details of the end. I am tired of hurting her so I am letting go and get me right again. Can't concentrate too good right now.
Stopping drinking is the first step to getting sober. Of course there is more to it than that.......but it's a good start!
I took a hostage, I mean got married also........
Willingness and acceptance are the keys. If you're ready, they will open the door.

Welcome to SR, mech. Sorry for the wreckage in your personal life but glad you recognize that continuing to drink is not going to make it any better and could potentially make it much worse. Sobriety is a better way of life. Hope you will be an active participant here. Connecting with others with addiction problems has been a cornerstone of my recovery. Wishing you the best today...
Welcome to you mech. I'm sorry for what you're going through.
Being here with us will help you to not feel alone. We've all been through similar painful times - due to our drinking. I lost my whole life, but I put it back together again. Things aren't the same, but they are good! You can do it. Be proud of yourself for making this decision.

Thanks for your time. She came and got stuff and is looking for a house to rent out of town. I don't have Facebook so I find out from people we both know what is going on. On meds as of 3 to calm the withdrawal. This is like I say the second time. Rehab and sober for 9 years the first time. Drunk for 15 years after that. Never can get a handle on it no matter what I thought.
