I was clean for 5 years after I went into a 6 month rehab and I recently started using again......Ive'been on my soboxone and this has save me from taking any opiatess but I recently took way to many xanax mixed with Ambien. My children will not talk to me.....I am devastaed to the point that I'm setting a date. If they haven't reached out by that date.......It terrifies me!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry for your situation and that you are so upset. Did your dr prescribe the Xanax and ambien, because it seems like those would be a dangerous combination? It's likely that your children were scared about what could have happened. The best thing is to allow your children some time and see what happens. I hope that they will come around.

Terra.....I know that our kids just want us to be OK, they would not be angry with you if they didn't care. Just focus on getting back on track & taking care of yourself. ((Hugs to you))

You have done a good job of taking care of yourself for five years - and you can do it again. What helped you during that long time of staying drug and alcohol free? What help do you need to get back on track? Are you eating and resting well? Getting some exercise? Taking care of everyday routines?
You CAN do it! You've proved it already! Your long time clean is inspiring!
Your children love you, and are probably disappointed and scared for you, because they love you so much. Perhaps the best way to help them move forward is to take good care of yourself.

My kids were very upset by my drinking and didn't talk to me for a while too. But after I got sober for good, our relationship is now better than before.
