fatigue
fatigue
I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing severe fatigue. I am 45 days sober and still exhausted by mid afternoon. I am sleeping great at night and taking many vitamins including B still I am ready to fall asleep by 2 everday for a 2 plus hour nap. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. I was a heavy drinker for 30 plus years. Besides when I was pregnant I have never been sober for this long.
I get waves of fatigue hun too, im told we have put our bodies under so much stress by drinking it needs time to heal. Im only 18 days in mind you, could be a good idea to check with your doctor tho just to rule out anything underlying x
Yes, still very tired here as well after 83 days myself. Taking the same as well..vitamin B's. Nothing else. Eating properly & sleeping properly..not just "passing out" anymore. I think it's normal. Checking my Iron level as i'm iron deficient but other than that i'm not worried. Just enjoying the rest my body is begging for. Never napped in my life but i'm starting to enjoy it.

In my first few weeks and months without a drink, I was so tired.
I also got that slump at 2pmish.
I think for me, the tiredness was a result of years of not sleeping well. Most nights I went to bed really drunk and passed out as opposed to falling asleep.
I found that having a sugary drink or a sweet snack - like a cake, ice cream or doughnut - helped revive my energy levels.
What I would say is now is the time to listen to your body.
If your body needs sleep, give it sleep.
Eat well.
Keep hydrated.
Some exercise early evening might also help.
I wish you the best xx

thanks for everyones input. makes me feel better to know its not just me. I know I need to go to the doctors to get blood work done but my doc just retired so need to find a new one and haven't really felt like dealing with it but guess in need to. ate half a loaf of sweet cornbread so no need for a nap today!!! thanks everyone
Skipper123, I experienced extreme fatigue for the first 6 months of sobriety. And it didn't make sense, as I was sleeping so well at night.
Like you, I drank for over three decades.
The fatigue eventually went away. Congrats on quitting.
