Hahaha! Take it from another Cheesehead--these things are great!

By the way, I'm signing up for my first sober weekend in awhile. ARVT is working well for me.

Just wanted to reference your intro, Ken. Nice topic here.

I also knew it was time to give up the ghost well before I actually stopped drinking. Every time I poured that first drink, something inside me said "you can't keep living this way", but I knew that after I consumed a few that I'd forget that voice. So I'd drink more and more to keep that voice quiet. Eventually, I started drinking earlier and earlier in the day...because when I had my wits about me, my situation looked very dismal. When I was drunk, it didn't look so bad! Just put on the ole' blinders and drank my problems away. When they came back the next day, I just popped another bottle of vodka and I was back on my high. Bills and letters piled up in the mailbox, voicemails mounted in my inbox...the only people who contacted me LESS were my friends and family.

I wish I'd never got myself into that situation, but I'm glad I've found a way out. Sobriety is working for me. It's great to see that it's working for so many here also!

Well said bigS!

Hi JD! Welcome aboard! . AVRT and Rational Recovery were life-changers for me, too! I love how different methods and programs click for different people. Such a wealth of info in this community!

The most comprehensive, nuanced explanation I found on 'in like Flynn'.

- In Like Flynn - straightdope.com -

No go on us hooking up to Wireless Internet. If we can see this one Tower like the proverbial Sore Thumb, it's at capacity until an upgrade some months out. Other Towers and frequencies on them were either too weak of a signal, or bum for some other Techie 'reason'. We tried it all.

So, I'm pursuing the idea of us putting up a small Tower [~30' tops] from which we would get monthly service. Mebbe make a few Shekels/monthly.

My mom always says that they are telling each other where the really good feeders are and which ones have the most delicious seeds. lol

Really cool tattoo, Ken. I still haven't gotten mine retouched. I will post when it's done. It looks a little sad now

Thanks!... The time is my birthday and the flower.. lilac is for my mom. I love timepieces. I described each aspect and the artist did it up just as I asked. She did an amazing job. The detail and color is something to see in person. People at work today were loving it. I seem to get the same response. everyone started with WOW. LOL

I love it and will love it more when it's healed fully.

I am in love. With a blender. My mom handed me down her VitaMix. She got a newer one. I just made a smoothie with it. Oh. My. Goodness. The power is very sexy.

That tattoo is REALLY impressive Ken - I don't have one myself and don't like the one's my daughters have but yours is the business

I believe old swashbuckler Erroll was as fond of boys as well as girls

Well said BigSomb. Last few years of my drinking the first drink would, without fail, result in me passing out eventually.

I was a lousy drinker and had no business doing it
