Today marks the 7th day of sobriety for me. A week ago, I broke out into a sweat just cleaning the kitchen sink. Earlier today, I went for a 4 mile walk in humid weather and didn't sweat. That right there is a good enough reason for sobriety!

That's good to read JD congratulations (is that a John Deere tractor?)

Tetra - sorry about your mum, what a pain. I have relatives from Galway (the town itself). It is a Saoutchik family legend that we are descended from Spaniards who washed up in Ireland in bad weather after the Armada. Actual documentary evidence for this - nil

I had some Lancia fans contact me, apparently Italian film star Marcello Mastroianni owned the same model as mine (sadly mine is not the ACTUAL one he owned) Even so - how cool is that?

Congrats on 7 days, JD! Keep going....the best is yet to come!

You know,I don't think I've ever seen a Lancia in real life?!?! I didn't even know what it was before joining this thread.

Sao, you not owning the Actual car as the actor reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where George thought he bought John Voights car. One of my faves!

Oh. For Mesa..

"The thread about nothing." That can be our theme. I like it.

Also. Have you tried the NeilMed sinus rinse thing? Saved my bacon more than once with allergies. It really works. Buy the squeeze bottle if you get one. So quick and easy.

Bacon has been called.

That's right Brynn - Lancias are never seen on the road. They look great but they don't actually start or work or anything

Mesa, that certainly sounds overly-complicated. Leave it to a chiro-lol.

Trach - one of my favorite pieces of music. My favorite Beethoven is the 8th.

Just got back from a 5 mile forced mar - errr, lovely hike. It's humid. I sweated a lot but I was thinking while I was hiking that I'm sure my sweat doesn't smell like stale booze the way it used to when I'd drag myself out for these hikes. And it's much easier to enjoy your surroundings when you aren't hungover and dehydrated.

Good job on the 7 days, Mr. Deere. (Farmalls are better - let the debate begin), as everyone else said, it gets better and better. Is this your first sober time? Or are you trying again? I tried many times before I got it right. This time it's sticking because I was just plain ready. Living in Wisconsin, it's not the easiest place to be sober, but it's definitely do-able.

Nice one JD.

John Deere tractors sold in the UK now under licence - indirectly they are customers of mine via a builders supply merchants

Not sure if you're being serious about the Lancia thing, Sao. I'm leaning towards you're being sarcastic though???

Wolfie...what are these chocolate peanut butter deserts you speak of?

Flaminia? Gorgeous.

And as a Yank I'd like to personally apologize for all of the current Chryslers re-badged as Lancias. Nothing necessarily wrong with Chrysler, but it's like bolting a prancing horse badge on a Ford pickup. Just not right.

Nope.
I was in Germany in 2006.
Was Google Calendar a thing then? Has my iPhone been flying to Germany without me?

Lancias don't have the greatest reputation for reliability Brynn.

Fiat took over most of the smaller Italian manufacturers and they were subject to political interference and like Alfa Romeo had their name dragged through the mud by being assembled in parts of Italy with no car making experience and using sub standard steel from plants that were the patronage of either the Christian Democrats or the Communists

It kind of adds to the glamour that there was a last hurrah in the early 190's

This is Federico Fellini's wife and star of la strada Giulietta Masini
