Hi all,
Tomorrow my only baby starts Kindergarten! It's going to be a big change for us. I'm really going to miss having her here. I know we will get used to it... I live 2,000 miles away from home in my husbands hometown. We usually go back and forth to see my family but we will not be able to anymore for awhile I suppose.
On a positive note, I'm going to a women's mtng with my sponsor after I drop her off. Pointless post just a little down but it will be alright

The first day of school is tough. I cry every year when I drop my girls off on the first day of school. This year I will have a high school senior and a freshman. My oldest one is driving them both, so no first day drop offs for me this year. It makes me sad.
Nothing pointless at all about your post. It's important that we feel free to share any issues/situations that are going on in our lives that might affect our recovery, and your baby starting to leave the nest is an important moment. Wishing you and your little one a safe and happy day tomorrow!

Nothing pointless at all, certainly an emotional time and we are all here for you, just a thought, but maybe take this opportunity to appreciate the positive impacts of the steps you have taken towards sobriety that make this a healthy transition for you and your child. You deserve a pat on the back and a big hug for making the right decisions that will make this a positive day.

There isn't a mum or dad that won't relate sweetheart, big transitions for our babes are even bigger for us parents. Be gentle with yourself and I think crying is good, (just not in front of your little one, but you'll know that).
