Hi, I stumbled across this site while looking to see if cramps were part of withdrawal . Interesting how it just jumped out at me. Today will be the first day I haven't been drunk in as long as I can remember. I've stopped a few times before for about 4 days or so, but this is the first time I've been dead set on quitting all together. I've tried "cutting back", but always started right back up. That leads me to see that I must stop completely. Wish me luck and any advise is greatly appreciated!
Welcome to SR - you will find lots of support here! Good luck to you and be sure to consult with your doctor if you are a heavy drinker - cold turkey alcohol withdrawals have the potential to be dangerous. Hang in there!
Thanks Bad. Appreciate the heads up but I've done it before and no what to expect. It's just time to stop all together. Thanks so much for the advice!
Welcome to SR 1day. For me, stumbling on this site saved my life. Stay close, read as many old threads as you can and post as often as you need to not drink. We can help you through this.
Glad you found us.
Glad you found us.
Sorry about the cramps but good job at sticking it out. Yeah I got some pretty good cramps today in my hands, toes, legs and back. It's never been my back so I'm obviously doing the right thing by quitting.
Thanks Ruby! Yeah I've tried cutting back a few times and that obviously didn't work so stopping completely is the only answer. You know it's time when the liquor store employees know you by first name lol
Thanks cam! I will definitely take your advice. Thanks for your support.
