I don't know who I am anymore.
AO...what I'am reading doesnt sound like you. What has happened...or been happening to bring you to this point ?
Many times in the course of extended abstinence, I have been looking for a reason to drink. Sometimes not even realizing it. Sometimes, totally aware of looking for something to justify it. I found a good enough reason (or so I thought) everytime.
Too many times.
So. I ask again. Whats really going on.
If you care to share, thats fine. If you care not to, thats fine.
We're here for you.

P.S. I may be way off base here. If so, please forgive me.

I'm all sorts of discombobulated.
This time of approaching 'empty nest' may push you to changing in ways you didn't expect or even want. But, you may find that you begin to enjoy the peace in your life, even though the actual change is a bit painful.

AO, you sound very smart. Life throws us curve balls, even when we know their coming. Its how we navigate the rough waters that defines our character. You may be discombobulated now, but when the time comes, you will pass with flying colors, I'm sure of it. Millions have gone through it before you, and millions will go through it after you. Its not a unique situation, but its unique to you, correct? I'm sure you will experience mixed emotions, but be the "rock" and set an example to your child. I believe she will respect you for it, and pass it on to the next generation of alphaomega's.
