Its about to get real....
I was a cook/bartender. I used to be a fire alarm technician. 15 years. Alcoholism got me in that job (looking for acceptance in a mans world) and alcoholism got me out (numerous call out in the end due to hangovers) I got some applications to fill out today. It's a few very accommodating grocery stores. Perfect for the college student. Next summer I may be able to get something related to what I'm going to school for. SO and I had a sit down last night. I told him flat out. You get drunk, do not come home. He completely understands the severity of the situation. My truck is my truck...I'm working on it. Hitting a meeting today. I love my life, this will all work out. It's just going to suck for a bit. Noooo biggie.

Everything is going to be incredible.
Stay sober.
Address one thing at a time.
Smile, soldier on, be strong and be willing to ask for help.
Stay sober.
Be honest and forthright and hold faith.
And stay sober.
And it will all be just amazing.

Hugs! I just read this and I know you can do it. It's all a bunch of junk at once but there are usually bright spots as we go through it. Our hands are forced, we make decisions more quickly, and you know? I've often found that those decisions have been the best even though I was panicking at the time.
Congratulations on 11 months! You sound good.

Thank you guys. I'm going to drop off an application today. SO seems to understand the severity of the daughter situation. I can't make him stop drinking, I told him...the nights I'm not here, please wait until I get home if you are going to get ripped. Go do yard work like you used to. Let's just say the yard is starting to look good again. I hit a meeting yesterday. One thing at a time, one day at a time.

Absolutely everything will be alright. One day at a time, one step at a time, you can do this...congrats on getting out of an unhealthy situation at work and on working to better your home life as well. You're in my thoughts and prayers today...
