Ways to Deal with Triggers & A.Voice

Thought making a Tread on peoples ideas , hints , of what helped them .. We all are different & in different Sobriety points . I'm in Hopes that when someone is in need of help ( In the Moment ) They can read through these . Thanks :)
As I started on this path of getting & trying to stay or become Sober :
My biggest help of all was to always watch for "Triggers "
Persons , Places & Things . Make a Plan around these & get tools . When they come on change what your doing .

My best emergency move could be done anywhere. I took 5 deep breaths while concentrating on my body. It's never failed to stop a strong craving.

Walking helped me - in the evening which was always the time I craved

I found out 'I' was the trigger. I drank for ANY and EVERY 'Reason' ... and most of my daily drinking was continual 'automatic' behavior.

Now that I have the MIRACLE of being FREE from the obsession & craving cycle of active drinking, the old 'Triggers' just don't get 'Traction'.

I sense that ... Stress at Work, Irritation at something my Wife did, certain Songs, Ads showing bottles of Specialty Bourbon, etc ... would have been a 'Trigger' previously, but I am now 'Elevated' above the 'Gears Still Turning' in the old me ... and by doing the Daily Work ... I am FREE

RDBplus3 ... Happy, Joyous and FREE :thanks

I picked up hobbies again . Cross stitch , painting , sewing , hook rug . At times when I just couldn't shake it , I would splash cold water on my face .

I'm currently redecorating my entire room :) (I'm typing this covered in paint)
Being as it's where I used to retreat to, to drink alone I decided to completely physically change it.
Where as before it was a dark room full of empty bottles and clutter, it's day by day becoming a bright blue, airy clean space where I can fill it with new positive memories. I already don't feel in the same mind set when I walk in.
I've been able to completely focus on it these past few difficult days and I really feel like I'm accomplishing something. :) x
