Day 27
Today is day 27 for me. I can almost start counting months!
I'm doing well. Really well. People tell me how good I look. I feel better and better. Just yesterday I noticed that I could read subtitles on the TV clearly again. Before I needed to focus my eyes pretty hard or get closer to read them.
There are many improvements. All adding up to a much better life.
The biggest challenge was once when I got a very strong craving. The others had been mild. But the breakthrough was when I snapped out of it, thinking: "What am I thinking? I don't drink." Then I could ignore them and move on.
Cravings are best dealt with by ignoring them. At least for me. They come up, more and more mildly nowadays, I notice it, ignore them, move on. And they go away. I notice that the more I do it, the milder they get. They lose their grip and fade.
I must admit I have a sense amusement regarding cravings now. It's funny to me how when I ignore them, they can't continue to exist and have absolutely no power.
Anyway, off to work. The job I almost lost because of drinking...

Hi and congratulations on 27 days.
That’s an achievement many seek one day at a time in a row.
Often the obsession to drink will pass fairly quickly when we focus on non drinking thoughts. Compulsion is tougher as it occurs after we have a drink and at that point alcohol has it’s hooks into us.
Continue the good work one day at a time in a row.
BE WELL

Congratulations on 27 days sober.
what an awesome 27 days you have there! One month is just round the corner.
It's amazing the improvements we can see in our bodies in such a short time, I'm actually starting to look in the mirror again although the scale is a different story (but I'm working on that)
